So this week hasn’t been all that productive on my end unfortunately. On Sunday morning, while taking a morning nap with my dog on the couch (he gets very yippie if he knows he’s alone in the mornings after being taken out and fed) I woke up with the most excruciating lower back pain I’ve ever had. From what I can gather, I must have slept at a funny angle and just moved the wrong way when I got up.
I’ve spent the last few days just trying to get up and walk around, trying not to startle my wife or the dogs with sudden screams of pain. It has been a struggle to say the least. Needless to say, I have been off the computer and basically laying in a recliner the rest of the time. Not a very productive week so far, to be sure.
As much as I feel like I am “slacking off”, I keep being reminded by my wife that my health comes first. After I recover, I plan to seriously re-evaluate my healthy and not-so-healthy habits. I want to start working on strengthening my core so that future back pain issues can be avoided, or at least lessened. It is a humble reminder to me that as much as I am tempted to stay at my computer and work constantly…the body needs to move.
Ok…back to my previous sitting position in the living room. I hope to be back in the game by the end of the week. Wish me luck!
