I know it’s been a while since my last proper update of the project, so I am getting right on it today!
The past month has been very interesting to me from a production standpoint. While some of the people working on Legacy have taken temporary leave to focus on school and careers, others have recently joined the fold…adding some fresh talent and enthusiasm. On the 3D modeling side, we have Sergio…a hard surface modeler with a real knack for ZBrush! On the UI/UX side of things we have Camille coming on-board to help design the look of the in-game menus and iconography.
I also am working on (sort of) a side project that is very much directly related to Legacy the video game as a whole other avenue of (sorry for using such a tired buzzword here) “trans-media” entertainment. The world of tabletop wargaming is very much new to me, but I have recently become very enamored by it! The new game from Spartan Games…”Halo: Fleet Battles”…is an amazingly sophisticated, yet easy to learn tactical tabletop game that I have started playing. It gives the fans of the Halo franchise the opportunity to recreate some epic space battles from the franchises history, as well as giving you the ability to create your own unique scenarios. It is an absolute blast! Even before this, I had the idea of incorporating a tabletop game that ties in the lore and history behind the events of Legacy, but having played this game…it has pretty much solidified my resolve to do so. Keep an eye out for future updates on this. I have already played around with making some of the miniatures. 😉
OK, well other than that, I have just been focused on working out the game mechanics in UE4 still. It has a little more ways to go to get to a full, playable demo…but I am confident that I will reach my goal of having something that people can actually play on the floor at PAX EAST 2016 in Boston.
Well, back to work now. I will try to get more updates out sooner and more frequently. Thanks for stick by while we make history!
